Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen for Men

We will have a grand Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen on Tuesday, December 4, starting at 8:00 p.m. at shul. The Farbrengen will be led by Rabbi Moshe Miller.

Yud Tes Kislev is celebrated as the “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus,” and is the day the Alter Rebbe was freed from prison in czarist Russia. This was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the “inner soul” of Torah. You can read about Yud-Tes Kislev on our website here.

Rabbi Miller a prolific author and translator, with some twenty books to his name on a wide variety of topics. He is a popular lecturer, mostly on Jewish mystical topics.  He teaches the Sunday evening course on the introduction to Chasidus and should have lots of interesting things to share with us about Yud Tes Kislev.

We will daven Maariv at 7:45 p.m. and begin the farbrengen at 8:00 p.m.

Prize Week

This week we are opening up “shop” for the kids to redeem their tokens for prizes and games. Everyone can shop and choose prizes which will then be placed in bags, with their names, to be taken home after Shabbos.

On Shabbos, one is not allowed to acquire things, so for this halachic reason, prizes cannot be taken home on Shabbos. If the parents cannot pick up the prizes at a time when the shul is open for regular davening, you can contact Yona Posner at 847 677 1770 x305 to arrange another time.
