Wednesday, December 12, 2012: Chanukah Learning with Rabbi Posner. Torah Perspectives – “What Miracle are We Celebrating?” is the newest of riveting and detailed classes you can enjoy (for men and women). 8:00 pm at 4059 Dempster.

Thursday, December 13, 2012: Public Menorah Lighting with Skokie Mayor Van Dusen at Krier Plaza/Skokie Site of Civic Pride in Downtown Skokie. Free hot drinks, latkes, and donuts for all attendees. 6:00 pm at the corner of Oakton and Niles Center Rd in Skokie.

Friday night, December 14, 2012: His and Hers simultaneous Farbrengens! Farbrengen for men at the Finkel home and for women at the Fedida home.

Spreading the Chanukah Light to the Elderly and Infirm

During Chanukah volunteers will be visiting the Jewish residents of all of the nursing homes and the hospital in Skokie, bringing them the light and joy of Chanukah. This is being coordinated by Tiffany Fedida. If you would like to be part of this, please contact her.

Of Locks and Keys and Security

Over the past few months you may have noticed work being done on our building. We have upgraded and added security systems to protect all of us. As part of this process we have rekeyed the exterior locks and the old key no longer works to those locks . In the coming week or so, we will change the combination of the alley door.

If you find that your key no longer works or that the combination you enter does not unlock the door, do not use force on the lock. The lock is not broken; it is just that you don’t have a current key or combination.

If you need to be able to gain access to the building at times when it is not open to the public, please speak to Rabbi Yosef Posner about getting a new key. If your usual means of entry is via the combination lock, the new combination is ●,●,●,●. If your computer does not have the security clearance to read that encrypted combination, please speak to Rabbi Yosef Posner.

Shabbat L'Yisraelim, provided by Rabbi Menachem Slavaticki and the Chabad Israeli Center, will meet this Shabbat at 10:00 a.m. on the lower level for Shacharit. The Tefila is followed by a complete Seudat Shabbat.
