Of Locks and Keys and Security – Another Update

We have changed the combination for the lock on the alley door. The old combination no longer works.

If you need to be able to gain access to the building at times when it is not open to the public, please speak to Rabbi Yosef Posner.

Some People Do Read The Shul News

We are glad to announce that some people read this newsletter very carefully. Several weeks ago we announced that we are in need of some cars, and that we are gratefully accepting donations. Somebody read that and was inspired to donate two beautiful cars. We sincerely thank this generous and anonymous donor!

There will be a breakfast for men at Shul on January 13, 2013, 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. Rabbi Posner will discuss some interesting Halacha of Business case studies. We thank Hiam Naiditch for being the driving force behind this event, and his committee of Yehuda Leib Burgeman, Evan Loiterman, Rob Phillips, Dr. Berel Polisky, Steve Rosenberg.

Timely Reminders

Earliest Tallis: on Mon: 6:21 am - Fri: 6:22 am *
*) The time we are posting is primarily with our weekday 6:30 minyan attendees in mind. If someone must daven earlier, please be aware that there are other opinions of how to calculate this.

Sunday is Asara B'Teves (the Tenth of Teves). We fast on this day from dawn until nightfall, because this is the date on which the siege of Yerushalayim began, which lead eventually to the destruction of the First Bais Hamikdash. Selichos are said in davening, and there is Torah-reading at Shacharis and Mincha. It is permissible to get up early to eat until approximately 5:31 a.m. (if, when going to sleep the night before, one had in mind to do so). The fast ends at 5:00 p.m.

This Tuesday we will be on legal holiday schedule, with Shacharis at 8:00 a.m. and Mincha at 4:15 p.m. There will not be a 7:45 Maariv Minyan.
