What is the Cteen Gala?
The Cteen Gala is a special evening honoring some remarkable teens, and highlighting the various programs and services that Skokie Cteen offers to Jewish teens in Skokie.
About Cteen:
Cteen Skokie is where Jewish teens come to connect, have fun, and feel proud of who they are. In a warm, welcoming environment, teens experience Judaism in a way that’s real, relevant, and stimulating. Teens from varied backgrounds and schools come together at Cteen, building friendships and connections beyond their everyday school friend groups.
Innovation and creativity are hallmarks of Cteen Skokie, from weekly social meetups and volunteer projects to events, classes, Shabbat dinners, trips, Shabbatons, clubs, school pop-ups, and Jtext trivia.
Cteen builds confidence in Jewish identity, deepens awareness and appreciation of tradition, and develops leadership skills. Cteen is nurturing the Jewish leaders of tomorrow.
Cteen is for high school boys and girls.
Cteen Junior is for boys and girls in grades 6-8.
About Jew Crew:
Jew Crew, the Jewish Association of Students at Niles North High School, is a vibrant space where students connect, explore their Jewish identity, and engage in meaningful conversations about Jewish life.
Open and inclusive to students of all backgrounds, Jew Crew is a safe and welcoming environment for sharing ideas, building understanding, and standing up to antisemitism through education and positive experiences.
With regular meetups, creative activities, and lively discussions, Jew Crew brings energy and connection to school. The club is co-sponsored by Ms. Elizabeth Shay and Rabbi Yochanan Posner, and is associated with Skokie Cteen.
