Don’t miss hearing the Shofar!
Even if you are not going to any Shul, it is still important to hear the sound of the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah. See below for the list of outdoor Shofar meetups scheduled for Sunday, September 13. Just show up, you don’t even have to go inside a building to hear the Shofar!
(The thing is that we really do want to give you the full synagogue synagogue experience. Please come to Chabad and feel welcome, comfortable, and even inspired! We're ready to greet you. Just show up. No reservations are needed. Rabbi Yochanan Posner leads the Interpretive Service, He explains every prayer and liturgical poem in English as the congregation is saying it, showing the meaning and relevance of the text, and he also uses humor to make it engaging and enjoyable. That is why it is called the Interpretive Service. The Interpretive Service ends at the same time as the classic services. If you are accustomed to a Non-Orthodox style service with lots of English, but you want to try something else, the Interpretive Service is for you. Our volunteers will blow shofar at designated locations and times around Skokie, on Sunday, September 13. There is no Shofar on September 12, because of Shabbat.
Please come early so that you don't miss out, especially if it says that the time is approximate, which means that the shofar blowing may be a few minutes before or after the listed time.
