Full Name* First Name Last Name E-mail* How often does your child participate in Cteen?* Participates in everything. Participates now and then. Will participate more often in the future, I hope. How do you feel about virtual vs. in-person?* We are virtual only. I don’t feel comfortable having my teen attend anything in-person. The more in-person the better. My teen needs the normal socialization. We are cautiously doing some in-person, if we believe that it is safe and well planned. We are only doing in-person if it is outside. As the cold weather gets closer, many outdoor events will be less realistic. How do you feel about indoor events? (Assuming appropriate safety rules.)* Not for us, we are not doing any in-person indoor gatherings at all. We would allow our child to attend an in-person indoor gathering, only if there is no food at all. We would allow our child to attend an in-person indoor gathering, with food, provided that there is sufficient distancing to safely remove masks for the eating part, and refreshments are individually wrapped. (More about this in the next question.) If you answered that you would allow your child to attend an in-person indoor gathering with individually wrapped refreshments, what would you consider sufficient distancing for removing masks for the eating part? People are seated 6 feet apart before removing mask to eat. People are seated 9 feet apart before removing mask to eat. People are seated 12 feet apart before removing mask to eat. Traveling together in the Cteen van is big part of the Cteen culture. In normal times we do trips, Shabbatons, and outings big and small. Would you allow your child to be transported in a vehicle with people who are not in your household?* Absolutely not. Yes, for sure. It depends on the details. (This will be explored in the next few questions.) If you replied that transportation in a vehicle depends on the details, these questions are for you: Would you allow your child to ride in an ordinary van? (Assuming that all passengers and the driver are masked.) Yes, even at full capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 75% capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 50% capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 25% capacity. No If you answered that you would allow your child to ride in an ordinary van, does the length of time matter to you? No, any length of time/distance is ok in an ordinary van. Only a short ride of approximately 15 minutes. Only a medium ride of approximately 60 minutes. If you said no to an ordinary van, or if you said yes to an ordinary van but with the limitations, the following 2 questions are for you. We outfitted the Cteen van with a special supplemental ventilation system, which circulates outside air through the van, while keeping rain out. Our calculations indicate are that air flow in the van while the ventilation system is running is as high as approximately 60 air exchanges per hour. (For context, OSHA recommends 15 air exchanges per hour for surgical operating rooms, and only 3 of those exchanges must be outside air. Wikipedia.org says that classrooms get 3 - 4 exchanges per hour, residential bathrooms get 6-7 exchanges per hour, stores get 6 – 10 exchanges per hour. ) Would you allow your child to ride in the specially ventilated Cteen van? (Assuming that all passengers and the driver are masked.) No. I am not impressed with this ventilation system. Yes, even at full capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 75% capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 50% capacity. Yes, but only at approximately 25% capacity. If you answered that you would allow your child to ride in the specially ventilated Cteen van, does the length of time matter to you? No, any length of time/distance is ok in a ventilated van. Only a short ride of approximately 15 minutes. Only a medium ride of approximately 60 minutes. Would you feel comfortable with a school bus? (Masks would be required for all passengers and driver, only one passenger per seat, which provides distance and separation between people.)* Yes No A school bus is expensive. Would you be willing to contribute towards the extra cost of renting a bus? Yes, please reach out to me at the time, and we would contribute. I am sorry, we can’t at this time. Yes, here is my pledge amount per trip $______ (enter below) If you answered No to any of the transportation options, would any of these statements be true for you: I would provide my child with a ride to an event/trip/destination up to 15 minutes away. I would provide my child with a ride to an event/trip/destination up to about an hour away. I would provide my child with a ride to an event/trip/destination up to about three hours away. My child will have to miss it. One of the highlights of Cteen is the regional events with other Cteen chapters. Would you allow your child to attend events with other Cteen Chapters? (It would include non-high-risk states only, with all chapters complying with rules that are equivalent to ours or stricter.)* Yes Yes, if it is in this general area (others travel here.) Yes, if travel is done in a safe manner (as detailed above) Yes, any location as long as it’s outdoors. No, we aren’t comfortable with the idea of mingling with other groups.
