Purim Report and Pictures

Wow! We again had a record number of people coming through our building on Purim, whether hearing one of the hourly readings, giving Matanot L’Evyonim, or attending one of the many Purim events. Our building was open and in use from morning until night, with something going on the entire time (including a Megillah reading at 2:00 a.m.!)

Check out pictures from Purim here.

The Bio-Chemistry of Chametz

“Why is wheat bread considered Chametz but corn bread and rice are only Kitnius?”

Men and women, please join Rabbi Yosef Posner and learn about what makes wheat bread rise, how that differs from the making corn bread, why Matzah must be baked within 18 minutes, why we use specially cooled water and much more besides. Use science, technology and Torah to understand the Halachos of baking Matzah.

Sunday, March 26, 8:00 p.m. at Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie, 4059 Dempster St. Skokie, IL 60076

This Purim, 7 nursing homes were visited in the Skokie area. Our volunteers brought the joy of Purim with Megilla reading, music, and dancing.

Over 100 Mishloach Monos, packed carefully by the Jewish Youth Club, were handed out. The response was amazing! The residents couldn't thank us enough. Good job volunteers!! A great big thank you to Tiffany Fedida for putting together this amazing experience!
